
09-24-07: HITEC Founder Listed in Crain's Detroit Business' Esteemed 2007 "40 Under 40" List
DETROIT-Today, David Olivencia, Oracle director and president of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC), was named as part of the prestigious 2007 "40 Under 40" list sponsored by Crain's Detroit Business.
For the past 16 years, Crain's has been identifying men and women in the business and nonprofit community who have achieved solid business success before the age of 40. More than 200 people were nominated for this year's "40 Under 40" and were evaluated based upon extensive information about their careers and community activities.
"I am absolutely honored to be a part of such an esteemed list of savvy and successful Michigan professionals," said Olivencia. "I am also pleased to receive this type of recognition because it will also serve as a great opportunity to raise the profile of HITEC to many of my professional peers."
Working in Troy, MI, Olivencia has extensive experience in strategic planning, technology optimization, business alignment, and IT Finance, with functional specialties in marketing, finance, and general management. He has implemented successful technology strategies and business alignment solutions at multiple Global 500 firms.
His expertise crosses diverse industries including high-tech, software, automotive, public sector, insurance, and telecommunications. Prior to his career at Oracle, Olivencia held various enterprise architecture and strategy leadership roles at Ford Motor Company, Intelligroup, and Accenture.
In addition, Olivencia currently serves on the Board of Notre Dame's Mendoza School of Business and is a board member of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Detroit. He is also President Emeritus of National Society of Hispanic MBAs' Detroit Chapter, where he received the 2006 Executive of the Year Award.
