DEARBORN, MI - On March 18th as part of the Detroit Economic Club’s speaker series, HITEC president David Olivencia met with Sharon Allen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP (D&T USA).
Allen, who frequently addresses global leaders on issues of governance, diversity and ethics in the workplace, is responsible for the governance of an organization with more than $10 billion in annual revenues and oversees the firm’s relationships with a number of major multinational clients.
As one of Forbes magazine’s “100 Most Powerful Women in the World,” she is also a member of the Global Board of Directors of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, where she serves as the U.S. representative on the Global Governance Committee and chairs the Global Risk Management Committee.
Allen came to Dearborn to address the Econ Club on the need for talent to grow today’s businesses. Olivencia had the opportunity to meet Allen and share the efforts and progress of HITEC to date.
“It was an honor to meet and listen to Ms. Allen’s remarks on talent as the fuel for growth for today’s businesses,” said Olivencia. “HITEC members across the country are truly the leadership fuel behind their respective organizations with not only strong business and IT leadership, but also with influential community, policy, and business relationships across the $1 trillion Hispanic domestic economy."
"It was also great to hear form a global leader who has very strong board governance expertise, which is an area many of our HITEC members are growing towards," Olivencia added.
