10-29-08: HITEC Announces Estee Lauder as Sponsor
DETROIT-Today HITEC officials proudly announced Estee Lauder, a international leader in luxury skincare, makeup and fragrance consumer products, as one of its sponsors adding to its dynamic list of supporting organizations within the past year. The decision to support HITEC was a direct result of ongoing conversations between HITEC and Estee Lauder key technology leadership over the past few months.
"Estee Lauder's strong global brand and international reputation helps raise our national profile and highlights our efforts to champion the importance of diversity," said David Olivencia, HITEC president. "We are excited about the future opportunities this partnership will bring for both organizations."
Estee Lauder officials also saw great benefits to sponsoring HITEC, the nation's first national organization dedicated to cultivating and increasing the level of Hispanic executives within IT.
"This sponsorship will enhance our commitment to diversity by allowing us to attract talent within HITEC, while leveraging the expertise of its talented members to grow our business and expand our relationships within the U.S. Hispanic economy," said Earl Newsome, Estee Lauder vice president of Information Technology.
Founded in 1946, Estee Lauder is a highly technologically-advanced and innovative company that is also highly committed to diversity and technology.
"Estee Lauder's sponsorship of HITEC is a natural fit," said Alejandro Mainetto, HITEC Board Member. "Estee Lauder has a solid reputation for their commitment to diversity and their sponsorship only serves as strong evidence of that commitment."
About HITEC
HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council) was founded by senior Hispanic IT executives who have built outstanding careers in information technology but realized that there were far too few Hispanics in the IT leadership role. With a strong desire and passion to make an impact within the Hispanic IT community by helping others reach the highest levels, HITEC was formed in late 2006. These national leaders include executives leading Fortune 500 corporations on both U.S. and global initiatives while others lead some of the largest Hispanic owned IT firms in the United States.
