08-11-09:HITEC Co-Founder to be honored by Banking Systems & Technology for outstanding work as CIO of Whitney Bank
Detroit - Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, Francisco DeArmas, has been named to the 2009 “Elite 8” list of outstanding bank technology executives by Bank Systems & Technology magazine for his role as Chief Information Officer for Whitney National Bank.
“Francisco is a role model to many and his demonstrated leadership at work and in the community is truly admirable,” said HITEC President David Olivencia. “On behalf of the national executive leaders within the HITEC, we want to congratulate Francisco on this tremendous accomplishment.
“He is one example of the nearly 100 IT Executives, CIOs, and Technology CEOs within HITEC who are demonstrating breakthrough leadership and impressive results within their companies, executive teams, and the boards they serve.”
The editors of Bank Systems and Technology choose eight bank technology executives annually for their prestigious list based on several factors including accomplishments, leadership, and vision.
The profile of DeArmas is to appear in the September issue of the magazine along with the seven other executives that were chosen for the award. In addition to the profile, he will be honored at Bank Systems and Technology’s annual Executive Summit in October.
