
7-11-07: Hispanic IT Executives Successfully Host Historic Inaugural Event in New York
NEW YORK - With new found support from global financial services firm UBS, the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC) successfully hosted its inaugural national Executive Leadership Summit in New York city last month. More than 30 members attended the event which was held at the UBS offices at 1285 Avenue of the Americas. HITEC is the first national Hispanic organization focused on advancing the role of Hispanics within the executive ranks of the information technology industry.
The event featured keynote appearances by some of UBS's leadership, including Michael Poser, the managing director, global head of IT production, regional head of IT Americas and chair of the Americas IT diversity working group. Also Mark Polansky, Managing Director of IT Practice at Korn Ferry International provided a highly informative discussion on "CIO Leadership".
UBS also sponsored an evening dinner that allowed HITEC members to bond and share in their vast experiences from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurial firms.
The inaugural event-the first-ever event of its kind-marked tremendous progress for the newly formed national organization.

HITEC officials also emphasized its gratitude for UBS's involvement in helping the organization host its first event as well as to build awareness for the future.

HITEC was founded in December 2006 by senior Hispanic IT executives who have built successful careers in information technology and collectively shared a strong desire to make an impact within the Hispanic community by helping others reach the highest levels within information technology. These national leaders include senior-level executives of Fortune 500 corporations and Hispanic-owned IT firms in the United States.
