David Olivencia is a Director for Oracle Corporation based out of Troy, Michigan. David has extensive experience in strategic planning, technology optimization, business alignment, and IT Finance, with functional specialties in marketing, finance, and general management. David has implemented successful technology strategies and business alignment solutions at multiple Global 500 firms. His expertise crosses diverse industries including High-tech, Software, Automotive, Public Sector, Insurance, and Telecommunications.
Prior to his career at Oracle, David held various enterprise architecture and strategy leadership roles at Ford Motor Company, Intelligroup, and Accenture. Highlights include:
- Led teams through information technology and business transformations
- Created and rolled out global organizations and processes
- Negotiated and sold multimillion dollar contracts
From a board leadership perspective, David Olivencia currently serves on the Board of Notre Dame's Mendoza School of Business and is a board member of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Detroit. David is President of the newly formed HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council) focused on helping companies increase the amount of Latinos in senior IT leadership positions. David is President Emeritus of National Society of Hispanic MBAs' Detroit Chapter, where he received the 2006 Executive of the Year Award. David is also an Angel Investor in companies through his membership in the exclusive IrishAngels Network.
From a civic and community perspective, David was Coalition Chair for Gubernatorial Candidate Dick DeVos, the 2005 & 2006 Chair of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation's Technology Breakfast "IT Executive Bridging the Digital Divide" and Founder and Chair for the 3rd consecutive Notre Dame Business School Retreat "Strengthening the Spirituality within our Leadership". Recently, David was featured in BusinessWeek as part of its MBA "Day in the Life" Series and Hobson's Hispanic MBA Student's Guide 2007 Edition.
David earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (#1 US News and World Report), and his M.B.A. from the University Notre Dame (Cum Laude) where David also received the 2006 Distinguished Alumni Award. David also completed the Harvard Business School Corporate Governance program with HACR.
David is married and has small two children and enjoys spending free time in family activities.
