Drexel University IT Names Dr. Pablo Molina New Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Drexel University IT named HITEC Leader, Dr. Pablo Molina, as their Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Upon his August 1 arrival, Dr. Molina will report directly to Thomas DeChiaro, Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO), focusing his efforts on driving cybersecurity policy, planning, and implementation across the University.
Most recently, Pablo served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Association of American Law Schools. He is founder and Executive Director of the International Applied Ethics and Technology Association and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, teaching graduate courses in ethics and technology management, information security, technology governance, and innovation.
Previously, Pablo served as CIO for Southern Connecticut State University, Associate Vice President for Information Technology and campus CIO at Georgetown University, and Director of Information Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as Lecturer and Director of Information Systems at Washington University in Saint Louis and Senior Lecturer at the University of Missouri in Saint Louis.
Prior to his higher education career, Pablo was MIS Manager at the Saint Louis Zoo and a tech entrepreneur in Madrid.
At Georgetown University, Pablo received 14 national awards and three University awards, including Outstanding Faculty Member in 2012. In 2013 and 2014 he was selected for the HITEC 100 list, which includes the most influential Hispanics in information technology.
Pablo regularly speaks at national and international conferences on technology, education, and policy. He has served as editor-in-chief of computer magazines and authored several books on technology. Pablo has served on national higher education committees, including:
- member of the Facilities Committee of the ABA Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar Section
- chair and member of the EDUCAUSE Evolving Technologies Committee, and
- member of the EDUCAUSE Professional Development Committee.
He also serves on the board of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC).
Pablo’s doctoral studies, at Georgetown University, focused on the adoption of technology in education. He also has an MBA from Saint Louis University. Pablo is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
