HITEC Recognizes Nellie Borrero, Accenture Managing Director and Global Inclusion & Diversity Senior Strategic Advisor Lead, as the 2023 HITEC Estrella Award Recipient

CHICAGO, USA September 28 2023The Hispanic Technology Executive Council (HITEC) is pleased to announce that Nellie Borrero, managing director and global Inclusion & Diversity senior strategic advisor lead at Accenture, has been selected for the 2023 Estrella Award.

The Estrella Award recognizes individuals whose leadership, integrity and dedication have contributed to the advancement of technology and who demonstrate excellence in all aspects of their global careers, serving as role models for "rising stars." The award will be presented to Nellie at the HITEC Awards Ceremony on October 3, 2023.  

"Nellie is the true embodiment of 'Estrella,' and a one-of-a-kind human being. Her lifelong commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity as a positive differentiator for businesses continues to move the needle toward a more equitable workplace culture," said Rosa Ramos-Kwok, chair of the HITEC Board of Directors. Nellie has an unwavering belief in the power of inclusion and diversity to make businesses more innovative and successful. A respected leader with over three decades at the leading global professional services company Accenture, Nellie has dedicated her career to championing a culture of equality in the workplace. As the global Inclusion & Diversity senior strategic advisor lead at Accenture, Nellie is responsible for advising the direction of the company's efforts across gender equality, disability inclusion, LGBTIQ+ inclusion, ethnic and racial diversity and more. From creating the first role for diversity efforts at Accenture to launching training programs in Brazil, India, Japan, South Africa, the U.K. and the U.S., among many other locations – Nellie has made significant contributions and continues to foster inclusion and belonging at the company.
