The HITEC Foundation Mentee Program Overview

The HITEC Foundation mentorship program looks to connect Hispanic technology students with executives already in the industry who can mentor them through their collegiate years.

Although enrollment of Hispanics students has increased in recent years the data shows that there is a significant gap in degree completion due to lack of support and guidance in developmental education requirements and conclusion of gatekeeper courses.

With an interest in supporting Hispanic technology students’ in achieving their educational goals, the HITEC Foundations mentoring program seeks to connect technology mentees with industry executives thereby enhancing their student careers. Participating in a mentoring relationship increases students’ likelihood of completing college and continuing in the technology field.

Participating students are uniquely matched with a volunteer mentor that has participated in a mentor orientation, completed a mentor interest survey for matching purposes, and committed to mentoring a student through a students’ college experience.
