HITEC is honored to recognize Eddy Cue for the 2018 HITEC Estrella Award.
Mr. Cue, with a nearly 3 decade career with Apple Inc., currently oversees Apple’s industry-leading content stores including the iTunes Store and Apple Music, as well as Apple Pay, Maps, Search Ads, Apple’s innovative
iCloud services, and Apple’s productivity and creativity apps. Mr. Cue also leads the newly created team responsible for developing all aspects of Apple’s worldwide video programming.
Mr. Cue joined Apple in 1989 and leads a large organization of amazing people. Mr. Cue was instrumental in creating the Apple online store in 1998, the iTunes Store in 2003 and the App Store in 2008. He also played a key role in developing Apple’s award-winning iLife suite of applications. In his early years at Apple, he was a successful manager of software engineering and customer support teams.
Mr. Cue earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University. He is an avid Duke basketball fan, and both of his sons Adam and Spencer studied Computer Science at Duke University as well. Mr. Cue’s recent involvement with Duke has included encouraging undergraduate women to study computer science and electrical engineering as part of the Duke Technology (DTech) Scholar program launched in 2016. Additionally, Cue
joined Duke Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Krzysweski in founding PowerForward, a mobile video network which targets the B2B market offering subscriptions to video content and case studies aimed to help corporations foster leadership and build teams.

HITEC is proud to recognize AT&T as Corporation of the Year for 2018. The Corporation of the Year Award recognizes the organization that contributed to the success of HITEC over the past year and exhibited above-and-beyond commitment to the vision and mission of HITEC.
AT&T has been a committed partner since 2011 demonstrating leadership and engagement that has been instrumental in HITEC’s growth. Throughout its tenure as a corporate partner, AT&T has hosted three (3) HITEC Leadership Summits in Dallas:

Including the latest this past spring for the 2018 Dallas Summit, AT&T hosted a reception in Mexico to extend the reach of HITEC and has actively participated in all professional and executive development programs.
Thaddeus Arroyo, CEO, AT&T Business, HITEC Estrella Award Recipient and HITEC Board member since 2013, has been an invaluable asset to the organization’s advancement through his continued commitment and support of HITEC across various endeavors along with Pablo Salazar, CIO of AT&T Mexico.

HITEC is proud to recognize Rocio Lopez with the 2018 HITEC Member of the Year Award. Ms. Lopez is a Senior Executive Accenture’s internal IT organization specializing in Technology & Innovation. With over 23 years of strategy, consulting and information technology delivery experience, Ms. Lopez is a recognized leader who is accountable for large, complex, go-to-market Technology & Innovation transformational programs. Ms. Lopez is an established
organizational talent strategist, given her advocacy for Accenture people. She leads the talent transformation for the global internal IT organization and is driving the reinvention and shaping of the technology workforce. She
sponsors strategic national inclusion and diversity projects focused on Hispanic talent growth within the company and externally.
Ms. Lopez leads the HITEC Women In technology program and is a Board Member on favorite quote, by St. Teresa of Calcutta, “Spread love everywhere you go;
Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier” reflects her commitment to drive change within the Hispanic Community and world at large.
Ms. Lopez has been an active and dedicated member of the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council for several years. Ms. Lopez is an exemplary model of HITEC’s “Push Up Pull Up” mantra: as a graduate of the 2015 HITEC Emerging Executive Program, Ms. Lopez was instrumental in launching the HITEC Women in Tech Breakfast series in 2016, which has grown from 50 participants to 200 in the past couple of years.
The program is focused on developing, retaining and attracting women in tech careers by bringing them together in one place to network and establish connections.
