Join Microsoft's Sr. Director, HoloLens & Mixed Reality Commercial Programs, Lourdes Orive, for an engaging session about Microsoft's mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. The very nature of what it means to work is changing – and just as the agricultural revolution led to rapid increases in agricultural productivity, or the industrial revolution ushered in entirely new manufacturing processes, the digital revolution has again redefined what it means to work. Mixed Reality has the potential to help customers and businesses across the globe do things that until now, have never been possible, and the Latinx community has a unique opportunity to both benefit from this technology revolution and impact it in meaningful ways.
Lourdes is a twenty-three year veteran of the digital communities space, starting way back in the glory days of AOL. Prior to her current role leading commercial programs for HoloLens at Microsoft, she led digital engagement and community teams at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Apple, was Marketing Director at Major League Baseball’s MLB.com (as a proud Cuban, she’s a huge baseball fan by birthright), oversaw the Starbucks.com website and ecommerce business for Starbucks Coffee Company, and developed web properties for Oxygen Media in New York.
Lourdes believes her mission is in connecting people through technology – she loves working with customers across the spectrum (from enterprise to small business to consumer) and is passionate around developing and leading powerful, productive, high-impact teams, with a specific focus around developing and coaching new leaders.
When not working, you’ll find Lourdes at home in downtown Seattle, taking in a show at Benaroya Hall (she’s a passionate early music fan and an aspiring gambist!) or enjoying life with her beloved English Bulldog, Henry.
