Source of Inspiration?

My mother has been my inspiration and role model. My mom, an American citizen had to leave me as a newborn in Cuba with my Abuela, because of the communist revolution. My mother worked tirelessly until we were reunited, she never gave up hope. She has taught me that anything is possible with hard work, vision and passion. Mom is the original super woman. She worked full-time with my dad building a successful insurance and accounting practice, designed and sewed my dresses, hosted our family dinners and found time to excel and win sales contest quarter after quarter. I guess you can say my Mom is one of the crazy ones who has always thought differently.

What is the impact you hope to make during your tenure as a board member of the HITEC Foundation?

The short term is to expand the current great work that has been done by the Foundation in the areas of fundraising, internships, scholarship matching etc. Long term is to look at ways we can sustain, scale and adapt to meet the needs of our industry as well as our communities. Technology jobs are changing and we need to be proactive in the preparation of tomorrow’s talent. This mean starting earlier, influencing, educating and mentoring our youth.
