Ricardo A. Bartra is a SVP, Chief Information Officer for DHL Global Forwarding Americas. Prior to this role, Ricardo served as the Chief Architect and Global Head for IT strategy for the Consumer Business at GlaxoSmithKline based out of Philadelphia. Ricardo is a business-driven IT executive with a 21 year track record of accelerated advance in Fortune 100 global corporations in four industry verticals: Semiconductors, Consumer Electronics, large Pharmaceutical business and global logistics – Royal PHILIPS, GlaxoSmithKline and DHL.
Today, Ricardo has the Regional Americas responsibility for DHL Global Forwarding leading a multinational IT team with a substantial 2012/2013 transformational agenda while reshaping the Regional IT Strategy. He is focused on opportunities to drive innovation and create business value.
Ricardo has managed large IT organizations with multi-million dollar IT operational, capital and program budgets in global, regional and international scopes supporting business strategic efforts across multiple industries.
In his IT leadership roles he has focused consistently on IT competitive advantage for business innovation, go-to-market strategies and decision making intelligence with a proven ability to optimize the “IT” cost for value equation with innovative IT capabilities for the business while driving new enterprise-class technology. Ricardo brings extensive experiences leading IT organizations, business transformation, global IT capabilities implementation, large SAP implementations, Mergers and Acquisitions and strategic end-to-end corporate IT global programs spanning business processes, enterprise applications, IT infrastructure & operations, and large Programs & Portfolio management.
The Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine named Ricardo one of the “Most Influential Hispanics in Technology” in 2011. He was also named to the 2008 & 2009 HITEC 100 “The Most Influential Hispanics in Information Technology”. Ricardo sits on the Executive Board of HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council).
Ricardo Bartra received his M.S. in Information Systems Management from the US Naval Postgraduate School and a B.S. in System Engineering from Air Force Academy in Lima-Peru.
